Cancer survivors-Alternative Medicine: Is it for you?

Cancer is a multi factorial disease, involving the whole body, not only the affected part. Allopathic medicine offers a few invasive localized treatments (surgery, chemotherapy, radiation), which cause a lot of damage to the rest of the systems, while leaving the body depleted of its vitality.
Alternative medicine recognizes that cancer is not a local, individual process, but one that involves the whole body, therefore a holistic approach to treatment is used by means of herbal medicine, acupuncture and energetic medicine.
This type of medicine is practiced in many countries and is accepted at different levels, depending on varying standards of regulation. For examples, in most European countries, some MD.'s specialize in practicing natural medicine along with their allopathic methods.
Complimentary medicine(as it is often reffered to) is defined as any form of medical treatment that is different from conventional treatments. Its medicines are becoming more and more popular as their effectiveness is increasingly tested and proven for treatment. There are many different types of alternative medicine techniques in use today.
The goal of alternative medicine is to enable the body to use its own mechanisms to stimulate healing and prevent diseases from occurring.
Natural medicines are called remedies. These remedies are usually given in small doses (homeopathics), or large doses (nutrients). Practitioners work to tailor a treatment plan for each individual to gain the maximum benefits. They concentrate on the body as a whole, and not just treating the symptoms that ail the patient.
The best way of using alternative medicine is by building the body after all allopathic treatments have deleted its vitality; giving alternative medicine a try might be the best thing for your cancer recovery.
