'Pets Need Suncream Too'

We are used to warnings about protecting our children from the sun, but now animal lovers are being told to protect their pets too.Animal charity The Blue Cross says animals with thin hair or bald patches should have suncream applied before they go out.
Sunburn in prominent areas like ears and noses can lead to skin cancer, extensive surgery and, in serious cases, amputations, they warned.
A spokesman for the charity said: "Animals with white fur or bare patches of skin - especially around the face - can get sunburnt like the rest of us."
Cases of heatstroke, sunburn and other preventable illnesses in hot weather are common, they added, so owners should be careful to give their pets plenty of water.
Other precautions include not leaving pets in hot cars and keeping them indoors when the sun is strongest, between 11.00am and 3.00pm.
They added that vulnerable areas should be covered with a non-toxic waterproof human sunblock or a product specifically for pets.Long-haired animals should be kept well groomed - especially longhaired ones. A tangle-free coat will help keep them cool.

Naked wave

I was at an indoor water park and went on the surfing adventure ride. The waves were really strong, and there were warnings to secure loose clothing. I got caught by the current and got rolled forward, sending my bikini top flying!

I was flirting with this guy while he was trying to teach me how to do a flip off the diving board. When I finally decided to attempt the flip, I jumped off but chickened out and fell flailing into the water. I sunk right to the bottom, literally taking my bottoms down with me. I surfaced bright red.

Every summer, all my friends migrate to various vacation spots, and I'm usually the only one left. After an intense dance practice, I went to the store, knowing that there was virtually no one to impress. I was eyeing some things when BAM! I ran into my crush and his friends while I was wearing my leotard--pit stains and all.

It was the last day of school, and I was on the top floor. When the bell rang, mg friend and I dashed to the stairs and slid down the railing. Mid-slide, I stopped but mg friend was still going full speed. She crashed into me and we both went flying!

I was at a sleepaway camp and had a crush on this adorable guy from Germany. During lunch, I went to get lemonade. As the drink was filling, I tried to hunt down my crush among the crowd. Before I knew it, my cup overflowed, and lemonade spilled everywhere!

Last summer, I starred with my crush in a play at our community theater center. In one scene, we had a really passionate kiss. After our first dress rehearsal, he pulled me aside when we were both backstage and said, "Could you please not eat Doritos before practice? It makes the kiss taste funny." I knew I'd blown my chance.

For our last day of school, we got a dunk tank. I was having loads of fun, until it was mg turn to go in. When it was my crush's turn to try and dunk me, I got so nervous that I actually fell in before he even had a chance to hit the target. Very smooth.

After church, I was waiting for my family in the car when my fave summer jam came on. Of course, I had to belt it out! I was singing really loudly and off-key when my crush walked by with his morn, who is also my Sunday-school teacher. The following week, she asked me in front of the whole class if I would be singing for them this Sunday, too!

I was at the community pool with my BFF and her bro, who I had a major crush on. We were fooling around on the diving board, and when I jumped off the high board, I landed right on my best bud's brother! Every time I see him now, he yells, "Watch out! She might crush you!" Yeah, totally embarrassing.
